Hello families! My name is Shelby Alexander or as you know me, Miss Shelby. I am from Lewistown Montana and come from a large outdoorsy family. After high school I moved to Great Falls to further my education. I started out my higher education with a focus on medicine and worked towards becoming an EMT as well. While studying for a short time in Bozeman I worked as a kids group volunteer for HAVEN, a women’s and children’s abuse shelter, and soon found that working with children is truly what I wanted to do. I moved back to Great Falls to continue with my generals and start in on education classes in 2015 and also began working in early childcare facilities. Currently I am attending UM-Western to obtain my Bachelor of Science in preschool through third grade education. I have an associates in Pre-Elementary Education Studies and will obtain another associates in fall 2019 in Early Childhood Education. In my spare time I enjoy reading (when it’s not a textbook lol) especially if it has to do with Harry Potter or historical fiction, hunting, fishing (really any outdoorsy adventure), watching Disney movies, spending time with family and friends, playing with my puppy, and enjoying a healthy— and dare I say nerdy— dose of Pokemon Go! My favorite subjects to teach to your kiddos are early science, math, and language. It’s the most amazing and exciting experience for me to teach your children and watch them apply that knowledge in their everyday lives.
